Rampart Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To New Water Connection Works
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (RAMPART ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (043/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make
the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Rampart Road from its junction with Bitterne Road West to 30m north of its junction with Bitterne Road West.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are to install a new water connection.
3. The alternative route will be Bitterne Road West, Bullar Road, Cobbett Road, Englefield Road and Vespasian Road.
4. The Order will come into force on 30th June 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 10th July 2026.
