THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL HIGHER SIMPSON FOLD, WHEELTON
Definitive Map Modification Order 2026
The above Order, made on the 4th February 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by deleting a footpath at Higher Simpson Fold from the corner of the shed adjacent to Bancroft Cottage (point A on the Order map) to a lawn in the garden of The Barn (point B), adding a footpath from the same point (A) to a junction with the footpath in the pasture (point C) and varying the particulars relating to the footpath from Blackburn Road (point D) to its junction with the footpath in the field (point C) by providing that the width of the way varies between 2-9 metres as shown on the 25" Ordnance Survey sheet LXX.13 published 1911.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the offices of the Chorley Borough Council, and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the Order and Map may be bought there at the price of £1.00. A free digital copy of the Order be requested by emailing
or by telephoning Ansar Sadiq on 01772 532435 between 9.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday.
Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/AS002/894.20115/804-777) not later than 28 July 2026, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order). If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
