HYSBYSIR DRWY HYN bod CYNGOR SIR FYNWY, Neuadd y Sir, y Rhadyr, Brynbuga, NP15 1GA ("y Cyngor") yn Bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn yn unol â'r pwerau a roddwyd gan Adran 14(1)(a) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984:  

1.     Daw’r Gorchymyn i rym ar 30ain Mehefin 2026 a bydd yn parhau i fod mewn grym am gyfnod nad yw'n hwy na 18 mis neu nes bod y gwaith y cynigir ei wneud wedi'i gwblhau, pa un bynnag yw'r cynharaf. Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith yn cael ei gwblhau rhwng 30ain Mehefin 2026 a’r 1af Gorffennaf 2026, gan weithio rhwng 18:30 – 07:30 (gwaith dros nos).  

2.     Mae'r Gorchymyn yn angenrheidiol i Dŵr Cymru wneud gwaith mewn modd diogel yn y lleoliad.  Bydd mynediad rhesymol yn cael ei gynnal ar gyfer eiddo sydd ar hyd y ffyrdd a effeithir arnynt tra y bydd yr heol ar gau.    

3.     Effaith y Gorchymyn fyddd:

I.       Cau rhan o Stryd y Bont, Cas-gwent, Sir Fynwy dros dro, ~30m o'r gyffordd â Stryd yr Eglwys Uchaf am ~115m.

II.     II. Atal y system unffordd dros dro ar y ffyrdd canlynol:- Heol yr Eglwys, Stryd Isaf yr Eglwys, Stryd Santes Ann a Stryd y Bont i ganiatáu system ddwyffordd dros dro.

III.    III. Cyflwyno system draffig ddwyffordd dros dro ar Heol yr Eglwys, Stryd Isaf yr Eglwys, Stryd Santes Ann a Stryd y Bont, Cas-gwent. Bydd signalau traffig dros dro ar waith i reoli symudiadau traffig a byddant yn cael eu rheoli gan weithwyr i gynorthwyo llif y traffig.  

4.     Bydd llwybr dargyfeirio fel a ganlyn: Stryd Uchaf yr Eglwys, Heol yr Eglwys, Stryd Isaf yr Eglwys, Stryd Santes Ann ac i’r gwrthwyneb.  

5.     Gellir enwi'r Gorchymyn hwn fel Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig Dros Dro Stryd y Bont, Cas-gwent, Sir Fynwy 2026.  

6.     Yn sgil Adran 16(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffordd 1984 bydd person sy'n torri cyfyngiad neu waharddiad a osodir dan Adran 14 y Ddeddf yn euog o drosedd.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE
SECTION 14 - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984  

MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRIDGE STREET, CHEPSTOW, MONMOUTHSHIRE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE 2026  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Intends to make an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984  

1.     The Order shall come into operation on the 30th June 2026 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 30th June 2026 and 1st July 2026, operating between 18:30 – 07:30 (night works).    

2.     The order is necessary for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.  

3.     The effect of the order will be:

I.      To temporarily close a section of Bridge Street, Chepstow, Monmouthshire , ~30m from its junction with Upper Church Street for ~115m.

II.     To temporarily suspend the one-way system on the following roads:-  Church Road, Lower Church Street, St Ann Street and Bridge Street to allow a temporary two-way system in place.

III.    To temporarily introduce a two-way traffic system on Church Road, Lower Church Street, St Ann Street and Bridge Street, Chepstow. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation to control traffic movements and will be manually controlled by operatives to assist with traffic flow.  

4.     A signed diversionary route will be in place as follows:- Upper Church Street, Church Road,Lower Church Street, St Ann Street and vice versa.  

5.     This order may be cited as the Bridge Street, Chepstow, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026  

6.     By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
