What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
GRAVESHAM AREA
B262 SPRINGHEAD ROAD, NORTHFLEET (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF 7.5T WEIGHT LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Northfleet Carnival - 11 July 2026
Kent County Council intends to make an Order for the safety of the public whilst an event is being held on the highway to temporarily suspend the 7.5T Weight Limit on:-
B262 Springhead Road, Northfleet, between A226 Thames Way and B262 Hall Road.
The Order will be effective when required on Saturday 11 July 2026 between 07.00hrs and 22.00hrs. The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply in the direction and only at such times as indicated by traffic signs in operation.
Nothing in the Order will apply to:
• Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services.
• Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair.
• Anything done with the permission or at the direction of Event Organisers or a Police Constable in Uniform.
Brice Road, Higham, Rochester, ME3 7AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brice Road, Higham, Rochester, on or after 26th June 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 37.
The alternative route is via Villa Road, A226 Gravesend Road, Forge Lane, Brice Road and vice versa.
Cheyne Walk, Meopham, DA13 0NU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of a new gas supply, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cheyne Walk, Meopham, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 57.
The alternative route is via Cheyne Walk, Warwick Gardens, Whitehill Road, The Street, A227 Wrotham Road, Meadfield Road and vice versa.
Henhurst Road & Jeskyns Road, Cobham DA12 3AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of core sampling of the carriageway, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Henhurst Road and Jeskyns Road, Cobham, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 3 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed between Sole Street and Church Road.
The alternative routes for any through traffic is via:
Westbound - The Street (Cobham), Halfpence Lane, A2 Watling Street (Westbound), Exit Gravesend East, Henhurst Road.
Eastbound - Henhurst Road, Hever Court Road, A2 Watling Street (Eastbound), Exit Cobham, Brewers Road, Halfpence Lane, The Street (Cobham).
Park Pale & Park Pale Bridge, Shorne, DA12 3HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow GPR surveys to be undertaken, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Park Pale and Park Pale Bridge, Shorne, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 5 nights between 20.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed from Brewers Road to the end of Park Pale Bridge.
There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.
Sole Street, Cobham, DA13 0XY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sole Street, Cobham, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside 2 Vine Cottages.
The alternative route is via Sole Street, Camer Road, Green Lane, A227 Wrotham Road, Cross Lane West, Singlewell Road, Hever Court Road, Marling Cross Overbridge, Henhurst Road, Jeskyns Road and vice versa.
Spencer Street, Gravesend, DA11 0PL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spencer Street, Gravesend, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 2.
There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.
