What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
Bargrove, Newington (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bargrove, Newington, on or after 25th June 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Blackhouse Hill for approximately 720m in a Northerly direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, A20 Sandling Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, A261 Hythe Road, A261 London Road, A259 Military Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Prospect Road, Station Road, Blackhouse Hill and Bargrove.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Bargrove, Blackhouse Hill, Station Road, A259 Prospect Road, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Sandling Road and A20 Ashford Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rye Road & Rectory Lane, Brookland (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow street lighting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rye Road & Rectory Lane, Brookland, on or after 7th July 2026 for up to 9 hours or until the works have been completed.
Closures will be between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Rye Road will be closed at its approach and its junction with A259 Rectory Lane roundabout.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rye Road, Salters Lane, Harvey Road, A259 Rye Road, A259 Brookland Bypass, A259 Rectory Lane Roundabout and vice versa.
Rectory Lane will be closed at the junction of A259 Rectory Lane roundabout.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Rectory Lane Roundabout, A259 Brookland Bypass, A259 Rye Road, Harvey Road, King Steet, Rectory Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St Marys Road, Dymchurch, TN29 0PY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Marys Road, Dymchurch, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside numbers 26 & 42, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Marys Road, Mill Road, A259 High Street, A259 Dymchurch Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE (TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
For the safety of the public whilst the Folkestone Armed Forces & Community Fun Day event is being held, Kent County Council has made an Order to restrict traffic on various roads, Folkestone, as defined below.
Restriction: Road Closure from 19:00 hours on 26th June 2026 until 21:00 hours on 27th June 2026.

Diversion: The alternative route for any Westbound traffic is via West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middelburg Square, A2033 Bouverie Road, A2033 Castle Hill Avenue and Sandgate Road.
Restriction: No Waiting/Parking from 16:00 hours on 26th June 2026 until 19:00 hours on 27th June 2026.
