What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Barnsole Road, Staple & Woodnesborough (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barnsole Road, Staple & Woodnesborough, on or after 7th July 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The closure will be between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Barnsole Road will be closed from outside Summer Lodge to just North of Summerfield House and from the junction of Chalkpit Lane to outside Orchard House.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barnsole Road, Chalkpit Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coldred Hill, Lydden, CT15 7JR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coldred Hill, Lydden, on or after 28th June 2026 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coldred Hill, A2 Dover Road, Lydden Hill, Canterbury Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Eythorne Road, Shepherdswell, CT15 7NP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Eythorne Road, Shepherdswell, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 17 to outside number 19, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Westcourt Lane, Westcourt Downs, Long Lane, Barfrestone Road and Eythorne Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Eythorne Road, Great Haynes, Mill Lane and Church Hill.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



High Street, Lower Road & Mill Street, Temple Ewell (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Lower Road & Mill Street, Temple Ewell, on or after 2nd July 2026 for up to 5 hours or until the works have been completed.

Closures are planned between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

High Street will be closed the entire length.

Lower Road will be closed from High Street to Manor View.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Alkham Road, London Road and vice versa.

Mill Street will be closed from the junction of High Street to near Watermill.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Street, Templar Road, London Road, High Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Kings Road, Aylesham, CT3 3HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kings Road, Aylesham, on or after 26th June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 46 to outside number 96, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Cornwallis Avenue, Dorman Avenue North, Market Place and Kings Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Heritage Road, Burgess Road, Ratling Road, Cornwallis Avenue and Kings Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Richborough Road, Richborough, CT13 9JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fencing maintenance to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Richborough Road, Richborough, on or after 8th July 2026 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, between the hours of 08:30 and 15:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Richborough Road, Cooper Street Drove, A257 Ash Bypass, A256 Sandwich Bypass, Ash Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Stourmouth Road, Preston, CT3 1HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stourmouth Road, Preston, on or after 8th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Harden property, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stourmouth Road, The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 Gobery Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Ash Bypass, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A256 Ramsgate Road, A256 Ebbsfleet Roundabout, A256 Richborough Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Monkton Roundabout, A253 Canterbury Road, Gore Street, Plucks Gutter, The Street, Preston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Northbourne, CT14 0LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Northbourne, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside 4 Almonry Cottages to outside Old Shepherds Cottage and from Old Shepherds Cottage to outside Yew Tree Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Deal Road, Willow Road, Northbourne Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Willow Woods Road, Little Mongeham, CT14 0FZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Willow Woods Road, Little Mongeham, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Deal Road for approximately 680m in a Westerly direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Willow Woods Road, Northbourne Lane, School Lane, Deal Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



York Road, Walmer, CT14 7FD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of York Road, Walmer, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 41, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via York Road, North Barrack Road, Campbell Road, Wollaston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
