Brighton - Temporary Road Closures due to Gas Mains Replacement Works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER –
CLAYTON ROAD AND PLUMPTON ROAD
AND GLYNDE ROAD, BRIGHTON
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 10 June 2026 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-
(a) The temporary closure of Clayton Road, Brighton, from it’s junction with Hallet Road to it’s junction with Pankhurst Avenue.
(b) The temporary closure of Plumpton Road, Brighton, from it’s junction with Down Terrace to it’s junction with Pankhurst Avenue.
(c) The temporary closure of Glynde Road, Brighton, from it’s junction with Freshfield Road to it’s junction with Pankhurst Avenue to it’s junction with Plumpton Road.
- The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out gas mains replacement works.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
- This Order comes into force on 15 June 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 21 September 2026.
