LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 8 June 2026 made the following Order: The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 48) Order 2026 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.

  2. The general effect of the Order which will come into force 15 June 2026 is as follows:

    (a) provide new disabled person’s parking places, 6.6 metres in length and 1.8 metres in width in which vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge may park at any time, at the following locations: -

    (i) outside No. 63 Bute Road, Wallington;

    (ii) outside Nos. 5 to 7 Clifton Road, Wallington;

    (iii) opposite No. 40 Lindbergh Road, Wallington;

    (iv) outside Nos. 12 and 12a Paget Avenue, Sutton; and

    (v) outside Nos. 18 to 20 Vernon Road, Sutton (in place of existing Permit Holder only bay operating Monday to Saturday between 8am to 6.30pm).

    (b) revoke existing disabled person’s parking places at the following locations: -

    (i) outside No. 68 Beauchamp Road, Sutton (reverts to a Permit Holder only bay operating Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6.30pm);

    (ii) outside Nos. 80 Denmark Road, Carshalton;

    (iii) outside No. 18 Guy Road, Wallington;

    (iv) opposite Nos. 5 to 7 Trent Way, Worcester Park; and

    (v) outside No. 11 Westmead Corner, Carshalton (reverts to an uncontrolled parking place 4 wheels on the footway).

    (c) amend the map-based tiles to the schedule attached to the Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) Order 2023 to match conditions as they exist on site.

    Please be advised that the following proposals, which were originally published on 9 April 2026 in the London Gazette have been amended as follows: -

    (a) provide new disabled person’s parking place

        (i) paragraph 2(a) item (v) outside Nos. 11 to 13 Ruskin Road, Carshalton has been withdrawn;

        (ii) paragraph 2(a) item (vi) outside Nos. 12 to 14 Talbot Road, Carshalton has been withdrawn.

    (a) paragraph 2(b) item (vi) outside No. 67 Wigmore Road, Carshalton, will be repositioned outside No. 70 Wigmore Road, Carshalton (2 wheels on the footway).

    3. From 15 June 2026, Copies of the Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and map-based schedules showing the location and the effects of the Order may be inspected as follows: -

    (a) online at https://streets.appyway.com/sutton selecting the road name and restriction as detailed above;

    (b) Council’s Civic Offices St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA; or

    (c) by calling 020 8770 5000.

    4. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
