What is happening?

London Borough of Harrow

The Harrow (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. **) Traffic Order 20**,

The Harrow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. **) Traffic Order 20** and

The Harrow (Parking Places) (Amendment No. **) Traffic Order 20**

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Harrow proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Disabled Persons Parking Places Order would be to amend The Harrow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Traffic Order 2017, so as to:

(a) remove designated disabled parking places in certain lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice, as they are no longer required;

(b) designate parking places in certain lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;

(c) provide that the parking places would operate “at any time”;

(d) specify, in respect of the parking places, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (England) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;

(e) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight, to load or unload, etc.

3. The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be to amend The Harrow (Parking Places) Traffic Order 2020, so as to reduce in length and redefine existing parking places in association with the provision of the disabled persons parking places in certain length of the streets specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice;

4. The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be to amend The Harrow (Parking Places) Traffic Order 2020, so as to increase in length and redefine existing parking places in association with the provision of the disabled persons parking places in certain length of the street specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice;

5. A copy of the proposed Orders, maps of the relevant areas and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published at Greenhill Library, Perceval Square, College Road, Harrow, HA1 1GZ between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. on Monday to Saturday and 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Sunday, excluding Bank Holidays.

6. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Transportation Service at transportation@harrow.gov.uk.

7. Persons desiring to make representations should send a statement in writing giving the grounds thereto to the Head of Traffic, Highways and Asset Management at transportation@harrow.gov.uk quoting reference 26-16 ST. The deadline for objections is 23.59 hours on 1st July 2026.
