ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(RIDGWAY PLACE, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate a foul and surface water connection in Ridgway Place, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works, no person would:-
(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Ridgway Place, from the common boundary of Nos. 24 and 22 south-eastward for 12 metres; or
(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Ridgway Place specified in paragraph (a) above; or
(c) enter or proceed in the north-eastern footway of the length of Ridgway Place specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Ridgway Place specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.
4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using Ridgway, Murray Road, Spencer Hill and Worple Road or vice versa.
6. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite as directed by traffic signs.
7. Nothing in the Order would apply to :-
(a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;
(e) any person so as to prevent their access to any property adjacent to the prohibited footway or length of footway specified in sub-paragraph 2(c) above.
8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
9. The Order would come into operation on Monday 6 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed within two weeks. However, the Order would remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

(STUART ROAD, WIMBLEDON)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate well inspections in Stuart Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(a) enter or proceed in Stuart Road, from its junction with Durnsford Road to the common boundary of Nos. 66 and 68 Stuart Road; or
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of Stuart Road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

7. The Order will come into force on Friday 19 June 2026 and the works will be carried out between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00 that day. However, the Order will remain in force for a period of 3 months should further works be required.

(MONTROSE GARDEN, MITCHAM)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate excavation works in Montrose Gardens, Mitcham, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Montrose Gardens.
2. During the works, no person will:
(a) cause or permit any vehicle to any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Montrose Gardens, both sides, from a point 33 metres north-east of the junction with Upper Green West, north eastward to the common boundary of Nos 22 and 24 Montrose Gardens; and
(b) enter or proceed on foot in Montrose Gardens, in the length of footway, south-side, from the common boundary of Nos. 12 and 14, south-westward for a distance of 8 metres.
3. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite as directed by traffic signs.

WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(CHURCH ROAD AND SOMERSET ROAD, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The London Borough of Merton Council, on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, hereby give notice that for purposes relating to danger or damage connected with terrorism, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in Church Road and Somerset Road, as required, during the Wimbledon Championships 2026.
2. Subject to paragraph 3 below, between the hours of 6am on Monday 29th June 2026 until 11.59pm on Monday 13th July 2026, no person would:-
(a) enter or proceed in:
(i) Church Road, between its junction with Bathgate Road and its junction with Somerset Road;
(ii) Somerset Road, between its junction with Marryat Road and its junction with Newstead Way;
(b) cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(i) enter or proceed in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above;
(ii) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading, or in a parking place, in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.
3. The Order would confer powers to police constables and persons authorised by them to direct that any provision of the Order be suspended, commenced or revived, and to place barriers and obstructions on the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above, as they consider appropriate. The Order would also confer the power of discretion to police constables and authorised persons which would enable them to facilitate limited access to certain vehicles and pedestrians, including residents and those wishing to attend the event.
4. Alternative routes for diverted traffic would be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs but would likely use one or more of the following roads: Church Road, High Street Wimbledon, Parkside, Wimbledon Parkside, Inner Park Road, Augustus Road, Replingham Road, Merton Road, Durnsford Road, Gap Road, Leopold Road, Arthur Road and St Mary’s Road.
5. The Order would come into operation on Monday 29th June 2026 and remain in force until Monday 13th July 2026 inclusive.
