London Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (London Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.109) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 29th June 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE RESTRICTIONS
LONDON ROAD
From its junction with Northwood Road to 150 metres south of Portsbridge Roundabout.
B) TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN
LONDON ROAD
Into Northern Parade.
C) TEMPORARY BANNED LEFT TURN
LONDON ROAD
Into Northern Parade.
D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate bus improvement service works.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 29th June 2026 to 3rd July 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
F) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from London Road, Portsbridge Roundabout, London Road and London Road, York Terrace, Copnor Road, Old London Road, London Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
