What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway E54/23, Verwood

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridleway E54/23, Verwood from grid reference SU 08887 07421 to grid reference SU 09178 06935, a distance of approximately 600 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1st July 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated the works will be complete by 27th September 2026.

This Order is required to allow National Grid to carry out essential works to their power lines.

An alternative route will be provided.

It will come into operation on 1st July 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated the works will be complete by 15th November 2026.

Temporary Trasc Management Order, Various Roads, Ferndown

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Trasc Regulations Act 1984, as amended.The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4th July 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary road closure on New Road, Ferndown; Ringwood Road, Ferndown and Turbary Road, Ferndown as indicated by signs on site.

[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along New Road, Ferndown; Ringwood Road, Ferndown and Turbary Road, Ferndown.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable trasc to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Cranborne

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Trasc Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All highway users including vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Cranborne as listed:

[i] Mill Lane, Cranborne as indicated by signage on site;

[ii] Access to Mill Farm, Cranborne as indicated by signage on site.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to impose a temporary road closure for highway safety reasons.

Temporary Closure of Various Footpaths, East Stour

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Trasc Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along sections of Public Right of Way N64/35, N64/34, N64/33, N64/78. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It came into operation on 30 November 2025 for a period of 26 weeks initially, however has been extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport and will now remain in operation until 1 December 2026.

The Order is required to enable high voltage overhead cable diversion as essential infrastructure of development.

An alternative route will be provided.
