What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Belmont Avenue, Wickford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Belmont Avenue, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Tudor Way for a distance of approximately 115m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2404795 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Firer Gardens, London Road and vice versa (with access only into Belmont Avenue).

The Order will come into effect on 18th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(London Road, Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of London Road, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Langdon Road to its junction with Vernon Avenue a distance of approximately 170m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

“The Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2026 for 13 nights (19:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2406352 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while traffic signal renewal works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via London Road, Carpenters Arms Roundabout, Chelmsford Road, Rawreth Lane, Hullbridge Road, Down Hall Road, London Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 18th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Oxford Road, Rochford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Oxford Road, Rochford in the District of Rochford from its junction with Ashingdon Road for a distance of approximately 200m in an easterly direction.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading or No Stopping’ restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

“The Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. (Church Road, Vange) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Vange in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 40m north west of its junction with Osborne Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th June 2026 for 1 night (23:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701FSS2-24-77-170626 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while retaining wall inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, A1321, Southernhay, Clay Hill Road, Church Road (northbound) or Church Road, Clay Hill Road, Timberlog Lane, A1321, Church Road (southbound).

(Dorset Way, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dorset Way, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Montague Way for a distance of approximately 140m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2400920 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Various Roads, District of Rochford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (SW2) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Rochford as specified in the schedule.

The works (gas mains replacement) being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 11th June 2026 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location, and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
