What is happening?

(Footpath 34, High Roding) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Further to notice. Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 06 May 2026 and 27 May 2026.
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 34, High Roding in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Footpath 7, southwest for approximately 25 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 17 June 2026 to 17 December 2026, weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to a rotten and damaged bridge. The work to make it safe will be programmed in due course.
Alternative route: Footpath 7 – High Roding, Footpath 8 – High Roding, Footpath 34 – High Roding and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect 17 June 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the bridge has been made safe, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Road, Great Hailingbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Great Hailingbury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 230m south west of its junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th July 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (M0X4410259849 – Affinity Water Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Church Road, A1060, B183, B1256 and vice versa (with access only into Church Road, Bellas Green and Bellas Green Road).
The Order will come into effect on 18th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(High Easter Road, Barnston/High Easter Road – Bishops Green – Zc10104, High Easter) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of High Easter Road, Barnston/High Easter Road – Bishops Green – Zc10104, High Easter in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction of Chelmsford Road to a point of Proures Green Road a distance of approximately 2460m.
2. To temporarily introduce a “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping” in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction as above and any such existing parking controls and restrictions in the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 11th July 2026 for 30 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397272 & EP201EH2397272A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage improvement & investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via B1008, Main Road, Penden Hill, Pleshey Road, The Street, Bury Road, Stagden Cross Road, Rehobeth Street, Barnston Road, High Easter Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 18th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Lubberhedge Lane, Stebbing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Lubberhedge Lane, Stebbing in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 230m west then north west of its junction with Pages Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd June 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNM463F – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.
An alternative route is available via Lubberhedges Lane, B1057, Pages Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
