(Temporary 30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a 30 MPH speed limit on the A259 in Middleton-On-Sea from Grevatts Lane West, westwards to Worms Lane.

The restriction is needed to maintain safety while a major junction improvement scheme is constructed at Comet Corner. The Order will come into effect on 12 June 2026 and remain in force for 18 months.

(Woolbeding with Redford: Linch Road)

(30mph & 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to introduce a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-

(i)   reduce the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph on the section of Linch Road that runs through Redford village; and

(ii)  introduce new 40mph speed limit buffers on 450m sections of Linch Road north and south of the 30mph through Redford village.

Full details of the proposals in this Notice can be viewed on our website www.westsussex.gov.uk/tro. The website includes a response form for comments or objections.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any objections or comments about the proposal must be received by 2 July 2026. These may be sent via the response form on the website, in writing to: TRO Team, WSCC, The Grange, Tower Street, Chichester, PO19 1RH; or by e-mail to: tro.consultation@ westsussex.gov.uk. All correspondence should be addressed to the undersigned, quoting the reference TRO/CHI2506/RC. Only correspondence including a full name and address will be considered.

(Easebourne: A272) 

(40mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce a 40mph speed limit on the A272 extending 430m south-east of Easebourne village.

The Order will come into operation on 15 June 2026.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 11 June 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
