North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made a variation order under Sections 82, 83 and 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, which will come into force on 22 June 2026, will be to vary the Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Speed Limits) (Consolidation) Order 2025, so that a 20mph speed limit zone be introduced on the following roads:

i. Bayfield, West Allotment in its entirety.
ii. Cloverfield Area, West Allotment, on Cloverfield and Brookfield in their entirety.
iii. Derwent Way Area, Wallsend, on Derwent Way, Coquet Gardens and Alwin Close in their entirety. Further details of the proposals may be examined in the documents available on the Council’s website www.northtyneside.gov.uk (Statutory Notices).

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions contained within it on the grounds that it is not made under the correct sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks from 15 June 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
