MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC 150558201: The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way, Deansgate & Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Mancunian Way from Fairfield Street to Chester Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Fairfield Street, Whitworth Street, Whitworth Street West, Albion Street, Medlock Street, Princess Road, Stretford Road, Chorlton Road, Chester Road, Egerton Street & Chester Road, Mancunian Way, Bridgewater Viaduct, Whitworth Street West, Whitworth Street, Fairfield Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Annual Highway Maintenance. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th June 2026 to 29th June 2026 between the hours of 04:00 and 06:00. The order shall come into operation on 27th June 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC150441307: The City of Manchester (Cheetham Hill Road, Cheetham Ward) (Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Cheetham Hill Road One Way from Corporation Street to Trinity Way(permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Cheetham Hill Road, Trinity Way, Great Ducie Street, Bury New Road, Great Cheetham Street East, St James Road, St James's Road, Elizabeth Street, Queens Road, Rochdale Road, Miller Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate a crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 28th June 2026 to 7th September 2026 between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 (Sundays Only). The Order shall come into operation on 25th June 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
