(STOKE LYNE PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that on 8 June 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The order, which comes into force on 15 June introduces a 20mph speed limit on the unnamed road through the hamlet of Bainton, replacing in full the previous 30mph limit, but also extending south-westwards by a further 605 metres, replacing that length of 60mph National speed limit in the process.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Stoke Lyne Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 is revoked/replaced.

Date of Order: 26 January 2026
Came into force: 30 January 2026
This Order was introduced for public safety due to hazards including landfill, deep open water and overgrowth work needing clearance which is anticipated to take until February 2027 to be completed. The effect of the order is to close temporarily part of Footpath No.371/7/20 southwest of the village. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to property which is only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs are displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. The alternative route is parallel to the north via the footpath along Bicester Road. This Order, with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport will remain in force until February 2027 or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15291/AC)

Gosford & Water Eaton, Footpath 229/15/10
Date Order came into force: 25/12/2025
This Order was introduced because of a failed footbridge requiring replacement. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of Footpath 229/15/10 north of Wolvercote leading to Dukes Cut. There is no direct official alternative route. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Due to the need to prioritise funding for more strategic projects these works are not currently in the repairs program but will remain under consideration. With the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport, this order will remain in force until 31 December 2027 or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17143/RMF)
