What is happening?

REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL
TVCA LUF2 SCHEMES SPEED RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 202

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to revoke the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council (A1085 Coast Road) (40 MPH Speed Limit Traffic Regulation) Order 2007, impose a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1, a 30 miles per hour speed limit on the length of roads specified in Schedule 2, a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the roads specified in Schedule 3 and to prohibit driving on Spain Hill, Marske except for access.

SCHEDULE 1
CHURCH HOWLE CRESCENT Entire Length; CHURCH LANE Entire Length; HIGH STREET From its junction with A1085 Coast Road, to its junction with Church Lane; HOWARD DRIVE From its eastern junction with Windy Hill Lane, in a southerly direction to a point 72 metres south west of its junction with Frobisher Close; HUMMERSHILL LANE Entire Length; SPAIN HILL Entire Length; ST GERMAINS LANE From its junction with Spain Hill, to a point 26 metres east of its junction with Church Lane; WINDY HILL LANE From a point 11 metres west of its junction with Church Howle Crescent, to its eastern extent; WINDY HILL LANE From a point 22 metres north west of its junction with Spain Hill in a south easterly direction, to its junction with Hummershill Lane.

SCHEDULE 2
COAST ROAD From a point 1595 metres south east of its junction with Green Lane, for a distance of 50 metres in a south easterly direction

SCHEDULE 3
COAST ROAD From a point 160 metres south east of its junction with Green Lane, for a distance of 1435 metres.

(MARSKE, NEW MARSKE AND SALTBURN) (WAITING AND LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2003 (AMENDMENT)ORDER NO 1 2025

The Council has also made an Order under the Act the effect of which will be to amend the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council (Marske, New Marske and Saltburn)( Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2003(“the Order”) by extending the no waiting at any time restrictions on the east side of Church Lane Marske by the Sea from the junction with High Street (East) from 15 metres to 35 metres.

The Orders will come into operation on 13.7.26. Copies of the Orders may be examined at the address below between the hours of 11am and 2.00pm Monday to Friday or at Permanent highway notices – Redcar and Cleveland (redcar-cleveland.gov.uk)

If you wish to question the validity of the Orders or any provision in them on the ground that they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to them, you may, within 6 weeks from 12.6.26 apply to the High Court for that purpose.
