LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL
(CLARENDON PARK ROAD AND PORTLAND ROAD, LEICESTER) (LIMITED WAITING BAYS, DISABLED BAY AND REVOCATIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 16) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026 (Modification)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council ("the Council") HAS MADE an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32, 35, 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby made the following Order:- The effects of the Order set out in Schedule 1 to this Notice, will be to amend existing waiting and loading restrictions and introduce new Limited waiting bays, Shared use; limited waiting & residents bays along with a Disabled parking bay.

Schedule 1
The effects of the Order will be: -
• To introduce Limited waiting parking places operating from 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday inclusive with a Maximum stay of 1 hour and a No return within 1 hour, on part of the following road: - Clarendon Park Road - Southeast side outside Geeta Bhavan.
• To introduce Shared use bays operating 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, bays will be for Limited waiting with a 1 hour maximum stay and a No return within 1 hours and for Residents permit holders displaying a valid permit without time limit during the hours of operation for the bays on part of the following road: - Portland Road both sides outside Geeta Bhavan.
• To introduce Disabled parking bay that operates at all times on all days on part of the following road:- Clarendon Park Road - North-west side outside Christchurch;
• To revoke and amend existing waiting and loading prohibitions and restrictions.

A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council's statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen during normal opening hours at Leicester City Council, Customer Service Centre, 91 Granby Street, Leicester, LE1 6FB. If you wish to question the validity of the Order (which was made on 10th of June 2026) or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 10th of June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

THIS ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON MONDAY 29th DAY OF JUNE 2026.

The proposed Order was modified to include shared use bays and introduction of the limited waiting bays and a disabled bay is to help support local business and the Geeta Bhavan and Christchurch.
