The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following length of footpath. A 1060 metre length of Public Footpath No. 10 south of B1285 that extends between its junctions with Bridleway No. 7 and Footpath No. 12, south west of Murton to enable new electricity cable haul road and engineering works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the eastern side of the closure from Bridleway Number 7, north to Station Road South, then westerly via the footway of B1285 to Footpath Number 12 that leads south to the western side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are required from Monday 29/6/2026 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 2 months. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
