What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford made the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. City of Salford (Kara Street Area) (One Way Traffic) Order 2026. 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following: Proposed One Way Traffic on: Un Named Highway - East bound, from its junction Langton Street to its junction with Southern Street a distance of 72m. 

Kara Street, opposite 1 Southern Street - East and North bound, from its junction with Southern Street to its junction with Kara Street a distance of 43.5m. 

Southern Street - North bound, From north side of its junction with Kara Street, opposite 7/9 Southern Street to its junction with Alexander Street a distance of 64.5m. 

Arctic Street - South bound, From its junction with Alexander Street to its junction with Kara Street for a distance of 57m. City Of Salford (Langton Street, Gouldon Street, Southern Street And Alexander Street) (Prohibition Of Waiting) Order 2026. 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following: Proposed No Waiting At Any Time on: Langton Street - West side from the northern extended kerb line of Liverpool Street, north for 5m. 

East side from the northern extended kerb line of Liverpool Street, north for 43.5m. Langton Street UN Named Highway - Both sides from the eastern extended kerb line of Langton Street gable of No 4, to the western extended kerbline of Southern Street gable end of No 1. Goulden Street - Both sides From the northern extended kerb line of Liverpool Street, north for 34.5m. Southern Street - West side From the northern extended kerb line of Liverpool Street, north for 23.5m. 

West side from a point 46.5m north of the northern extended kerb line of Liverpool Street, north for 5m. East side from the northern extended kerb line of Liverpool Street, north for 51m. Both sides from the southern extended kerb line of Alexander Street, south for 10m. 

Alexander Street - south side From a point 10m west of the western extended kerb line of Southern Street, easterly to a point 10m east of the eastern extended kerb line of Southern Street. South side from a point 10m west of the western extended kerb line of Arctic Street, easterly to a point 10m east of the eastern extended kerb line of Arctic Street. 

Arctic Street - both sides from the southern extended kerb line of Alexander Street, south for 10m. Both sides From the northern extended kerb line of Kara Street, north for 10m. Kara Street, (opposite 1 Southern St) - Both sides from the eastern extended kerb line of Southern Street, east then north for a total of 43.5m to Kara Street. 

Kara Street (opposite 7/9 southern St) - Both sides From the eastern extended kerb line of Southern Street, east for 45.5m. Kara Street - North side From a point 56m east of the eastern extended kerb line of Southern Street, east for 12m. Liverpool Street - North side from a point 10m West of the eastern extended kerb line of Goulden Street, easterly for 76m. Salford City Council (Langworthy Road Area) (Introduction of New 20 M.P.H Speed Limit) Order 2006 (Amendment) Order 2026. 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following: Proposed 20 MPH Speed Limit on: Artic Street - For its entire length. Unnamed Street - From gable end of 4 Langton Street to gable end of 1 Southern Street. The Order will come into operation on the 11th June 2026. 

A copy of the Order and plan will be available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to Fri inclusive.
