THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be:
To impose no waiting at any time restrictions for the length of a proposed pedestrianised crossing along part of Melton Road (A6006), Asfordby Hill as shown in Plan TM5220/T1/1
A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan illustrating the proposals and an explanatory statement giving the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at my offices, Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RA, at the offices of Melton Borough
Council, Parkside, Station Approach, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray LE13 1GH and on the Notice Board of Asfordby Parish Council.
Documents can also be viewed online at https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/cars-and-parking/traffic-management-consultations from 11th June 2026. Objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing to the undersigned by not later than 2nd July 2026, quoting reference KJ/HTWMT/6185. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 23
PUFFIN CROSSING, BOROUGH OF MELTON
MELTON ROAD (A6006), ASFORDBY HILL
The Leicestershire County Council proposes to upgrade the existing Zebra Crossing to a Signalised Puffin Crossing in accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 at the following location:-

The Leicestershire County Council proposes to establish a Zebra Crossing in accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, at the following location:
High Street, Bottesford – at the crossroads with Barkestone Lane and Albert Street.
