ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
(Warren Lane, Wetherby, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because electric ducting works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Warren Lane, Wetherby, between its junctions with Toulston Lane and Spen Common Lane. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Toulston Lane, Aberford Road, Paradise Way and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Tuesday 16th June 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Queen Square Court, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for the installation of electrical apparatus, Leeds City Council has made an Order the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Queen Square Court, Leeds between its junctions with Woodhouse Lane and Providence Place. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available. Northbound via – Woodhouse Lane, Blackman Lane, New Woodhouse Lane, Woodhouse Lane, Clay Pit Lane; and Southbound via – Clay Pit Lane, Woodhouse Lane. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall into operation on Monday 15th June 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That because CCTV surveying and drain cleaning works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order the effect of which will be that: 1. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Bridge Street, Sheepscar, Leeds between Byron Street Car Park and its junction with Melbourne Street; 2. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Melbourne Street, Sheepscar, Leeds for a distance of 35 metres west from its junction with Bridge Street In addition it will be necessary to reverse the one-way restriction on Bridge Street between Byron Street Car Park and its junction with Byron Street whilst the above closures are in place. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Byron Street, North Street, Trafalgar Street; Melbourne Street, North Street, Trafalgar Street; and Lower Brunswick Street, Brunswick Row. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 22nd June 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for carriageway resurfacing Leeds City Council intends, in not less than 7 days, to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along: Phase A: Temple Ave between its junctions with First Ave and Fourth Ave. Phase B: Temple Ave and Third Ave between its junctions with Leeds Rd and Fourth Ave. Phase C: Temple Ave, First Ave and Third Ave between its junctions with Leeds Rd and Fourth Ave. Phase D1: First Ave between its junctions with Leeds Rd and Temple Ave. Phase E: First Ave and Temple Ave between its junctions with Leeds Rd and Fourth Ave. Phase F: First Ave and Third Ave between its junctions with Leeds Rd and Temple Ave. Phase D2: First Ave between its junctions with Leeds Rd and Temple Ave. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closures will be available and signposted. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 22 June 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Definitive Footpath Horsforth No.50) (Temporary Prohibition of Use)
Order 2025 – Extension
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN works involving the permanent diversion of a public right of way are required, the above-named Order that was made by Leeds City Council on 12 December 2025 and which was due to expire on 12 June 2026, is to remain in force (with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport) until 12 December 2026, or until the completion of the works if earlier. No person shall proceed along Leeds Definitive Footpath No 50; from its junction with Church Road, Horsforth; in a north-westerly direction for 165 metres, then heading in a westerly direction for 50 metres. A diversionary route for pedestrians affected by the closure will be available in a westerly direction along Church Lane, before reaching the community car park adjacent to the closure, until it reconnects with Definitive Footpath Horsforth 50 and vice versa. (Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) (Citywide) Order –
Experimental Traffic Regulation Amendment Order (No.35 2026)
Sovereign Street & Concordia Street Leeds
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council, acting as Local Traffic Authority (and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11,32 & 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers) made the above Experimental Traffic Regulation Order on 4 June 2026. The effect of the Experimental Order which comes into force on Thursday 18 June 2026 (and which will continue in force for a maximum period of 18 months) is to introduce the following traffic management measures
1. The replacement of the existing Taxi Rank on Sovereign Street with 4 ShortStay Parking Spaces for Coaches. 2. The replacement of 3 existing Pay & Display Parking Spaces on Sovereign Street with a) A Loading Bay (20 Mins Maximum Stay – No Return Within 1 Hour) between 05:00 hours and 10:30 hours only; and. b) A ‘No Stopping except for Hackney Carriages’ restriction at all other times. 3. The replacement of existing Pay & Display Parking Spaces on Sovereign Street with 3 Parking Spaces for Car Club Vehicles. 4. The replacement of existing Car Club and Pay & Display Parking Spaces on Concordia Street with a ‘No Stopping except for Hackney Carriages’ restriction.
The Council’s Chief Officer (Highways and Transportation) may under Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 modify or suspend the operation of the Experimental Order or any of their provisions if it appears to him to be essential.
The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be made permanent. Full details in the form of the made Experimental Order together with plans showing the affected lengths of highway and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for the Order are available by e-mailing the address below. If you wish to object to or make representations concerning the making of the Experimental Order for the purpose of indefinite continuation, you should write to City Development, Merrion House, Leeds LS2 8LX or e-mail troteam@leeds.gov.uk specifying the grounds on which your objection or representation is made by no later than 11 December 2026 quoting the Order number. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Experimental Order or any of their provisions on the grounds that it is within the powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may within six weeks from the date of this Notice apply for that purpose to the High Court.
