Amendments to Waiting and Loading Restrictions
in Crawley Down Road, Felbridge in the District of Tandridge
On 10 June 2026 Surrey County Council made “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Amendment of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibition and On-Street Parking Places Orders) (Amendment No.3) Order 2026” The purpose and effect of the Order will be to make certain amendments to the waiting and parking restrictions in the District of Tandridge under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) as follows:-
(1) Amend “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibitions and Restrictions) Order 2024” so as to:
(a) prohibit waiting at any time by vehicles in certain lengths of Crawley Down Road, and Mortain Road, Felbridge (to the end of the highway extent);
(b) provide that exemptions for loading on and unloading from vehicles, boarding, and alighting from vehicles, using vehicles for works, the maintenance of those roads and the services in them and for disabled persons’ vehicles in accordance with the Blue Badge Scheme, will apply to the afore mentioned restrictions; Make certain drafting amendments to the following existing Orders which impose waiting, loading and unloading and parking prohibitions and restrictions in the District of Tandridge, which will not affect the operation of those prohibitions and restrictions:-
(1) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Free On-Street Parking Places) Order 2024;
(2) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Free On-Street Loading Bays) Order 2024;
(3) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Free On-Street Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Order 2024;
(4) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Electric Vehicle Parking Places) Order 2024;
(5) The Surrey County Council (Various Lay-Bys in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Free On-Street Parking Places) Order 2024;
(6) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Prohibition of Waiting of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 2024;
(7) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Residents’ On-Street Parking Places) Order 2024;
(8) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge) (Revocation and Consolidation of Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools) Order 2024.
Where a restriction is proposed herein any existing restriction on the same length of road will be revoked, unless otherwise indicated.
A copy of the made Order, which will come into operation on 15 June 2026, plans showing the length of road to which the Order relate and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected, free of charge, at:
(1) Lingfield Library, The Guest House, Vicarage Road, Lingfield, Surrey, RH7 6HA, during normal opening hours;
(2) Tandridge District Council Offices, 8 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0BT, during normal office hours; and (3) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by appointment only.
If you wish to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any provision contained in any of those Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to any of the Orders, you may, within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
