What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DARTFORD AREA

A206 Bob Dunn Way, Marsh Street, Dartford (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Kent County Council intends to make an Order for the safety of the public whilst events are being held on the highway to temporarily prohibit the use of Vehicles on:-

The Bridge Triathlon - 5th July 2026 between 05:00hrs to 10:00hrs

A206 Bob Dunn Way – prohibition of eastbound traffic. The alternative route is via A2026 Burnham Road/Victoria Road/Hythe Street, A226 Home Gardens/East Hill/The Brent/London Road, A206 St Clements Way/Crossways Boulevard.

Marsh Street North – at the entrance to the estate. The alternative route is via Rennie Drive and A206 Bob Dunn Way.

2nd Dartford Bridge Sprint Triathlon - 6th September 2026 between 06:00hrs to 10:00hrs

Fastrack, The Bridge – No diversion required, the route is for Fastrack buses only

Marsh Street North – at the entrance to the estate between the hours of 06:00 to 10:00hrs. The alternative route is via Rennie Drive and Halcrow Avenue.

The Order will become effective on 5 July 2026. The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs in operation.

Nothing in the Order will apply to:

• Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services.

• Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair.

• Anything done with the permission or at the direction of Event Organisers or a Police Constable in Uniform.



Cotton Lane, Greenhithe, DA9 9AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Thames Water Utilities works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cotton Lane, Greenhithe, on or after 29th June 2026 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Lodges.

The alternative route is via Cotton Lane, Elizabeth Street, Church Hill, Stone Place Road, A226 London Road, B2228 Cotton Lane and vice versa.



Hook Green Road, Southfleet, DA13 9NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Trooli works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hook Green Road, Southfleet, on or after 29th June 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 26 to Tarran Cottage.

The alternative route is via Hook Green Road, B255 Highcross Road, B262 Betsham Road/Station Road, Dale Road and vice versa.



Kent Road, Dartford, DA1 2JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of resurfacing works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kent Road, Dartford, on or after 18th June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Spital Street.

The Suspension of One Way will be in place between Spital Street and Westgate Carpark only until 25 July 2026.

The alternative route is via Westgate Carpark – Exit onto Orchard Street – Hythe Street – A226 Westgate Road.



Pilgrims Way, Lingfield Avenue, Canterbury Close, B2500 Watling Street, Dartford, DA1 1YH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Scotia Gas Networks works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way and Lingfield Avenue, Dartford. Parking will be prohibited on Canterbury Close and B2500 Watling Street, Dartford.

Pilgrims Way is planned from 15th June 2026 to 20th July 2026.

Lingfield Avenue is planned from 27th July 2026 to 24th August 2026,

Pilgrims Way and Lingfield Avenue will be closed at the junction with B2500 Watling Street.

Parking will be prohibited on:

Canterbury Close - 06/07/2026 - 20/07/2026 full length of the road on both sides

B2500 Watling Street - 27/07/2026 - 24/08/2026 from A226 The Brent to Meadow Way

The alternative route for Pilgrims Way is via B2500 Watling Street, The Brent, Park Road, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.

The alternative route for Lingfield Avenue is via A226 London Road, The Brent, B2500 Watling Street and vice versa.
