Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
Bekesbourne Lane, Bekesbourne, CT3 1XH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow water meter works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Bekesbourne Lane, Bekesbourne from 1st July 2026, with estimated completion by 3rd July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bekesbourne Lane, A257 High Street, Wingham Road, Canterbury Road, B2046 High Street, Adisham Road, Station Road, Pond Hill, Adisham Downs Road, Adisham Road, Chalkpit Hill, School Lane, Station Road, Bekesbourne Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Beltinge Road, Herne Bay, CT6 6JR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Beltinge Road, Herne Bay from 29th June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 89 and 93, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via:
Beltinge Road - Beltinge Road, B2205 Canterbury Road, Mickleburgh Hill, Reculver Road, Sea View Road and vice versa.
Beacon Avenue - follow local diversion.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Burgate, Canterbury, CT1 2JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Burgate, Canterbury from 29th June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside numbers 11-12 Dwelling Accommodation, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Lane, Link Lane, Iron Bar Lane, Burgate and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Chapel Street, Herne Bay, CT6 5HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chapel Street, Herne Bay from 1st July 2026 with estimated completion by 2nd July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Rodneys Head Public House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for southbound traffic is via Chapel Street, Charles Street, North Street and Mortimer Street.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Chapel Street, Mortimer Street, East Street and Charles Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Margate Road, Herne, CT6 7BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Margate Road, Herne from 1st July 2026, with estimated completion by 3rd July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 33, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Margate Road, Heart In Hand Road, Sweechbridge Road, Reculver Road, Mickleburgh Hill, Margate Road Interchange and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Neville Road, Herne Bay, CT6 6TB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Neville Road, Herne Bay from 15th June 2026, with estimated completion by 26th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the former metric site, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Neville Road, Sweechbridge Road, Reculver Road, Barnes Way, Neville Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ross Gardens, Rough Common. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ross Gardens, Rough Common from 15th June 2026 with estimated completion by 19th June 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Rough Common Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ross Gardens, Rough Common Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Adisham, CT3 3JE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Adisham from 15th June 2026 with estimated completion by 26th June 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Bossington Road and Adisham Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2046 Adisham Road, High Street, A257 Canterbury Road, Wingham Road, High Street, Bekesbourne Lane, Station Road, Chalkpit Hill, Adisham Road, Adisham Downs Road, Pond Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Chartham, CT4 7HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow rail inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Chartham from 23:00 hours on 15th June 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 16th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, A28 Ashford Road, Shalmsford Street, Bolts Hill, Parish Road, The Green, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Herne Bay - Herne Bay Race For Life 2026. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow the Herne Bay Race For Life event 2026 to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads throughout Herne Bay. The closures are planned on 21st June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00, or until the event is complete.
The following roads will be closed to the extents indicated by signs and barriers on site. The closures will be lifted as soon as it is safe to do so.
• Hampton Pier Avenue will be closed between the junctions with West Cliff Drive and Western Esplanade.
• Western Esplanade will be closed between the junctions with Hampton Pier Avenue and Harcourt Drive.
• Chamberlain Drive will be closed at its junction with Hampton Pier Avenue.
• West Cliff Drive will be closed at its junction with Hampton Pier Avenue.
• Swalecliffe Avenue will be closed between the junction with Hampton Pier Avenue and the car park entrance.
