What is happening?
CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL
(WAITING LOADING AND PARKING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.6) ORDER 2026 106105 - VARIOUS ROADS IN BRADFORD WEST AREA
NOTICE is hereby given that City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council made the above Order on 9 June 2026 under their powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the general effect of which is to -
A. In City Ward:
- introduce “no waiting at any time” on lengths of the following roads: St Margaret’s Rd; Woodhead Rd; Grattan Rd; Vincent St; Stanmore Place; Aberdeen Place; Winston Terrace; Stratford Rd; and Little Horton Ln;
- introduce “limited waiting parking Mon to Sat 9am - 9pm up to 2hrs, no return within 2hrs” on lengths of Summerville Rd;
- remove a disabled person’s parking bay from Grantham Place; and
- introduce disabled person’s parking bays on lengths of Aberdeen Terrace; Aberdeen Place; and St Margaret’s Rd.
B. In Clayton and Fairweather Green Ward:
- introduce “no waiting at any time” on lengths of Thornton Rd;
- introduce “no waiting Mon to Fri 7.30am - 4pm 1 Sep to 31 July” on lengths of Shuttleworth Ln and Bull Royd Ln; and
- remove a disabled person’s parking bay from Thornaby Drive.
C. In Heaton and Frizinghall Ward:
- introduce “no waiting at any time” on lengths of the following roads: Wharncliffe Rd; Biarfield Gardens; Valley Rd; Redburn Rd; Grove Rd; Haworth Rd; Chellow Grange Rd; Brantwood Drive; Thorn Drive; Royal Gardens; Highgate; Leylands Ln; Salisbury Rd; Aireville Rd; Toller Drive; Emm Ln; North Park Rd; and Park Drive;
- introduce “no waiting at any time and no loading Mon to Fri 7.30am - 9.30am & 4pm - 6.30pm” on lengths of Bradford Rd, Wharncliffe Rd and Redburn Rd;
- introduce “limited waiting up to 3hrs, no return within 3hrs” parking bays on lengths of Haworth Rd;
- remove a length of “no waiting at any time” from Flower Hill; and
- introduce a disabled person’s parking bay on Granville Rd.
D. In Manningham Ward:
- introduce “no waiting at any time” on lengths of the following roads: Church St; Lily St; Skinner Ln; Laburnum St; Leyburne St; Oak Ln; Back Blenheim Mount; Blenheim Rd; Hardaker St; White Abbey Rd; Wilmer Rd; Park View Rd; and Heaton Rd;
- reduce the length of a “limited waiting” parking bay on Oak Ln;
- reduce lengths of “no waiting at any time” on Heaton Rd; and
- remove a disabled person’s parking bay from Tile St.
E. In Thornton and Allerton Ward:
- introduce “no waiting at any time” on lengths of the following roads: Thornton Rd; Firth St; and Henry St.
F. In Toller Ward:
- introduce “no waiting at any time” on lengths of the following roads: Back Girlington Rd; Washington St; St Leonard’s Rd; and Toller Ln;
- remove “school keep clear” markings from lengths of Thorn St and Washington St;
- introduce disabled person’s parking bays on lengths of Durham Rd, Fairbank Rd, Roydon Grove, Kensington St and Jesmond Avenue.
The Order comes into force on 12 June 2026. If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it, have not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Order was made (i.e. 9 June 2026) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
