BLUE BADGE HOLDERS ONLY & TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTED TO 30 MINUTES WITH NO RETURN WITHIN 4 HOURS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict/permit traffic along those lengths of the various roads in Abthorpe, Foscote, Northampton, Paulerspury, Silverstone, Whittlebury and Wood Burcote as specified in the Schedule below.

REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for safety during the 2026 British Grand Prix weekend. PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The proposed Order will come into effect on 2nd July 2026 and will continue in force for a period of five days. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for the Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such an extent as is indicated by the display of signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY SE17 – WHITTLEBURY, PUBLIC BRIDLEWAYS RX7 & RX6 (PART) –  SILVERSTONE & PUBLIC FOOTPATH RX10 (PART) – SILVERSTONE)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists from proceeding along those lengths of Public Bridleways and Footpath in Whittlebury and Silverstone as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths of bridleways and footpath are unaffected.

RIGHTS OF WAYS TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The length of Public Bridleway SE17 to be closed commences at the Buckinghamshire County boundary at point A on the map and National Grid Reference (‘NGR’) SP6817 4204, the route then proceeds north-west for 25 metres crossing into the parish of Silverstone where it continues as bridleway RX7 to meet point B at NGR SP6815 4205. The bridleway then proceeds generally northnorth-east for 203 metres to point C at NGR SP6823 4223. The bridleway then proceeds for 644 metres around the edge of the woodland, travelling generally north-west and then north-north-east to meet point D at NGR SP6804 4274. The route than proceeds as bridleway RX6 generally north-west for 518 metres to terminate at point E on the map at NGR SP 6761 4304. A short section of public footpath RX10 is to be closed. This commences at point B on the map at NGR SP6815 4205 and proceeds north-north-east for 11 metres to terminate at point F at NGR SP6815 4206. The route to be closed is shown by a solid black line between points A-B-C-D-E and B-F.

REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of the safety of the public attending the Formula 1 Silverstone British Grand Prix 2026.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 2nd July 2026 and will continue in force from 2nd July 2026 to 5th July 2026. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: There are no suitable alternative routes.
