Coniston - Temporary Footpath Closure due to Chillswim 2026 Event

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of Chillswim 2026 (the Event) at Lake Coniston, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along all of Footpath No. 512087 between grid references 331628, 497888 and 331586, 497650 at Monk Coniston.

No alternative is available for pedestrians.

The Order will come into operation on 20 June 2026 as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed and may continue in force for a maximum period of 3 days. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required between the hours of 9am and 4pm on the 20 June.
