What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Lincoln Place, Moorside, Consett) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

The Council on 3/6/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road. A 46 metre length of Lincoln Place between numbers 7-17, Moorside to enable sewer repair/renewal works to be undertaken. There is no alternative route available to vehicular traffic during the closure period. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works commenced under urgent 5-day notice from Sunday 31/5/2026 to Thursday 4/6/2026 and need to be extended from Friday 5/6/2026 for approximately 8 days. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
