What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(U5523 CHAPEL STILE, WILLOW LANE, FLOOKBURGH AND C5027 NEAR SAWREY)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the:

(i) U5523 Chapel Stile, from its junction with the B5343, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 420m;

(ii) U5523 Chapel Stile from its junction with the U5523 extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 50m;

(iii) U5523 Chapel Stile from its junction with the U5523 extending in a southerly direction for approx. 50m.

Alternative Route: via the B5343 and the unrestricted section of the U5523.

Duration: From 30th June 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/19001)

(iv) Willow Lane, Flookburgh, from its junction with Moor Lane, extending in an overall easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1.4km.

Alternative Route: via Moor Lane, B5277 and Wraysholme Lane.

Duration: From 11th July 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/19128)

(v) C5027 Near Sawrey, from its junction with the B5285, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 1km.

Alternative Route: via the B5285 and the C5026.

Duration: From 21st July 2026 for approx. 10 days (Ref: TTROW/19273)

The Order will come into operation on 30th June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
