What is happening?

(Framwellgate Moor, Pity Me, Newton Hall and Brasside) (Traffic Management) Order 2011 (Amendment No. 2) Order 2025
The Council on 5/6/2026 made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 and 35 and part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act”, as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 18/6/2026 and will bring into force the following restrictions 'No Waiting At Any Time' restrictions on:
a. Front Street, Pity Me - on the western side of the road leading from its junction with Woodbine Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 8.3 metres.
b. Woodbine Road, Pity Me - on the northern side of the road leading from its junction with Front Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 28.3 metres.
c. Front Street, Pity Me - on the western side of the road leading from its junction with Acorn Place in a southerly direction for a distance of 4.7 metres.
d. Acorn Place, Pity Me - on the southern side of the road leading from its junction with Front Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 7.9 metres.
e. Acorn Place, Pity Me - on the northern side of the road leading from its junction with Front Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 24.4 metres.
f. Front Street, Pity Me - on the western side of the road leading from its junction with Acorn Place in a northerly direction for a distance of 4.3 metres.
g. Carr House Drive - on its southern side from its junction with Langley Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 13.5 metres.
h. Langley Road, Newton Hall - on the western side of the road from a point 9.8 metres south of No. 46’s northern property boundary leading around its junction into Langley Road for a total distance 10.0 metres.
i. Langley Road, Newton Hall - on the western side of the road from a point 11.5 metres north of No. 70’s southern property boundary leading around its junction into Langley Road for a total distance 10.5 metres.
j. Langley Road, Newton Hall - on the western side of the road from a point 11.0 metres north of No. 40’s southern property boundary leading around its junction into Langley Road for a total distance 14.6 metres.
k. Langley Road, Newton Hall – on the western side of the road from a point 9.8 metres south of No. 10’s northern property boundary leading around its junction into Langley Road for a total distance 15.6 metres.
l. Hylton Road, Newton Hall – on the northern side of the road from a point 22.0 metres west of No. 1’s eastern property boundary leading around its junction into Langley Road for a total distance 11.7 metres.
m. Hylton Road, Newton Hall – on the southern side of the road from a point 15.0 metres west of No. 9’s eastern property boundary leading around its junction into Langley Road for a total distance 9.8 metres.
n. St Godric’s Close – from a point 42.6 metres north from its junction with Carr House Drive, on the southern eastern side of the road in a northerly then easterly direction for a distance of 11 metres.
o. St Godric’s Close – from a point adjacent to the aforementioned extents, on the northern side of the road in a westerly then northerly direction for a distance of 13.1 metres.
p. Mere Drive, Pity Me – on both sides of the road from its junction with Front Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 32.6 metres.
‘Restricted Waiting and No loading/unloading, Mon-Fri 8.15am-9.15am, 2.45pm-3.45pm’ on:
a. Bek Road – on its southern side from the existing bus stop in a westerly direction for a distance of 52.5 metres, leading to the existing no waiting at any time restrictions.
b. Eden Road – around its southern junction on its southern side from its junction with Langley Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 5.5 metres.
c. Langley Road – on its western side from its junction with Eden Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 4.2 metres.
d. Langley Road – on its western side from its junction with Eden Road around the island for its full extents.
e. Langley Road – on its western side from its northern junction with Eden Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 13.5 metres.
f. Eden Road – on its northern side from its northern junction with Langley Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 12.9 metres.
g. Pit Lane – on its western side from its junction with Forster Business Centre car park entrance in a northerly direction for a distance of 25.3 metres.
h. Pit Lane – on its western side from its junction with Forster Business Centre car park entrance in a southerly direction for a distance of 34.2 metres.
i. Wells Grove – on both sides from its junction with Canterbury Road in an easterly direction for a distance of 16.4 metres.
‘Restricted Waiting and No loading/unloading, Mon-Fri, 8.15am-9.15am, 2.45pm-3.45pm’ on:
a. Bek Road North – on both sides from its junction with Langley Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 7.4 metres.
b. Langley Road – on its western side from its junction with Bek Road North in a southerly direction for a distance of 37.9 metres.
c. Langley Road – on its western side from its junction with Bek Road North in a northerly direction for a distance of 8.3 metres.
A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Newton Hall Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by “the Act”, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 5/6/2026.
