BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE A 20MPH ZONE ON SOME ROADS IN GREAT BARFORD
Reason for Proposal:
Bedford Borough Council proposes to introduce a 20mph zone on some residential roads around Great Barford Primary Academy. A 20mph zone includes physical traffic calming features and does not rely solely on signage. Traffic Calming measures, including road humps are proposed separately as part of an associated traffic calming scheme. The proposed 20mph zone is intended to help provide a safer road network for all highway users, including motor cyclists, pedal cyclists and pedestrians. Effect of the Order:
1. To revoke the current 20mph speed limit on the entire length of each of the following roads in Great Barford and to introduce a 20mph speed zone. Associated traffic calming measures including road humps, are proposed separately under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:-

Bereford Close
Allotment Field Road
Pyms Close
Goodwins Yard
Hunts Field
The Spencers
Silver Street Loop
Relevant proposal documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP.
