What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH 
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(LAMBLEY FOOTPATH NO.21) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of "The Nottinghamshire County Council (Lambley Footpath No.21) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025 (which came into force on 13th December 2025 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 12th June 2026 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 12th June 2027 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.

The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Lambley in the Borough of Gedling :-

Lambley Footpath No.21 from its junction with Lambley Footpath No.23 in a northerly direction across the bridge over the dumble for a distance of approximately 60 metres.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are alternative paths available for pedestrians

If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety following damage to the footbridge being identified and to enable repairs to be made.
