What is happening?

LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL (ABBEY LANE, JARROM STREET, WOODBRIDGE ROAD, LEICESTER) (NO STOPPING PROHIBITION & PARKING PLACES) (PARKING CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025 AMENDMENT NO.15) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026 (TMP1018)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council ("the Council") HAS MADE an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32, 35, 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby made the following Order:-

The effects of the proposed Order, will be:
• To amend the existing 1 hour limited waiting bay operating 7am to 7pm Mon to Sat inclusive on part of Abbey Lane outside No.202 & 204.
• To amend the existing No stopping (red route) restriction operating 7 am to 7pm Mon to Sat inclusive on part of Abbey Lane outside No. 202 & 204
• To reinstate a no waiting prohibitions operating at any time on both sides of the road on parts of Jarrom Street
• To reinstate an unrestricted gap separating two lengths of no waiting prohibitions on part of Woodbridge Road outside the Cash & Carry
• To revoke certain existing prohibitions, restrictions and provisions

A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council's statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen during normal opening hours at Leicester City Council, Customer Service Centre, 91 Granby Street, Leicester, LE1 6FB.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order (which was made on 10th of June 2026) or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 10th of June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

THIS ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON MONDAY 29th DAY OF JUNE 2026.

The Order allow more parking provision outside the post office on Abbey Lane. Following the consolidation Order, two anomalies were identified, the existing restrictions were missed or incorrectly defined. This Order is made to correct the restrictions that the public see out on site.
