What is happening?
The Council of the City of Salford made the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. City Of Salford (Hersey Street, Horsham Street And Liverpool Street,) (Prohibition Of Waiting And Limited Waiting Parking Places) Order 2026
The effect of the Order will be to introduce: No Waiting At Any Time on: Hersey St - Both sides from the southerly projected kerbline of Liverpool St for a distance of 5m in a southerly direction. Horsham St - Both sides from the southerly projected kerbline of Liverpool St for a distance of 5m in a southerly direction. Liverpool St - South side from a point 5m west of the western projected kerb line of Hersey St, to a point 5m east of the eastern projected kerb line of Hersey St. South side from a point 5m west of the western projected kerb line of Horsham St, to a point 5m east of the eastern projected kerb line of Horsham St. Proposed Limited Waiting Parking Place. Operative 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday Waiting limited to 2 hours. No return within 2 hours on: Liverpool St - from a point 5m east of the eastern projected kerb line of Hersey St for a distance of 24m in an easterly direction with a width of 2m. City Of Salford (Liverpool Street) (Prohibition Of Parking On Verge and Footway) Order 2026 The effect of the Order will be to introduce: No Parking at Any Time on Verge and Footway on: The verges and footways adjoining the south side of Liverpool St from a point 5m east of the eastern projected kerb line of Hersey St for a distance of 24m in an easterly direction. The Orders will come into operation on the 11th June 2026.
A copy of the Orders and plan will be available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to Fri inclusive. Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be requested at phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or by writing to Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor PO BOX 532, Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA quoting reference L/GS/SCC006/01314 If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of the provisions contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks from 9th June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
