What is happening?
CITY OF BRISTOL
MARKSBURY ROAD AND OAKHILL DRIVE, FILWOOD WARD, PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING ARRANGEMENTS – TRAFFIC ORDERS
The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE it proposes to make the following traffic orders:-
1. Ref No. CAE/RGW/P-1359A – the City Council of Bristol (Oakhill Drive, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-
(a) to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in that length of Oakhill Drive from Marksbury Road southwards for 50 metres; and
(b) to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in that length of Oakhill Drive from Timsbury Road northwards for 20.6 metres between the hours of 8.20 a.m. and 8.45 a.m. and the hours of 3.10 p.m. and 3.40 p.m. on Monday to Friday.
The closure would operate during Oasis Academy Marksbury Road term days only and exemption would be provided for pedal cycles, blue badge holders, for specified/ statutory purposes and for permit holders.
Permits would be available to eligible Mason Close, Oakhill Drive and Timsbury Road residents and their essential visitors, and where necessary access to Oasis Academy Marksbury Road is required.
2. Ref No. CAE/RGW/P-1359B – the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Marksbury Road Area, Filwood and Windmill Hill Wards, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Prohibition of Stopping) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-
(a) to revise prohibition of waiting arrangements for vehicles in Marksbury Road and Oakhill Drive (previously known as ‘Access Road off Marksbury Road’);
(b) to introduce an additional length of no stopping prohibitions on school entrance markings in Marksbury Road at its junction with Oakhill Drive; and
(c) to remove the no stopping prohibitions on school entrance markings in Oakhill Drive.

Further details of all the proposals are contained in the draft orders, which together with plans, a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the orders and a copy of the order to be revoked may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The draft orders, plans and Statement of Reasons are also available to view on the City Council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/trafficorders.
How to object
Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to TRO Comments at the undermentioned address or by e-mail to tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk quoting the relevant reference number by 3rd July 2026.
