(WERNDDU ROAD & TIR ABBEY FARM ACCESS ROAD, ALLTWEN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the lengths of roads set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the roads are closed.
The Order is necessary to enable OPENREACH to carry out civil engineering works in the roads.
The Order will come into force on the 6th July 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 5 days to complete.
SCHEDULE
[1] Wernddu Road will be closed from the junction of Derwen Road in an easterly direction for 2km along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via the unaffected section of Wernddu Road, Farmers Road, A474, Pen Yr Alltwen, Alltwen Hill, Gwyn Street and Tyllwyd.
[2] Tir Abbey Farm Access Road will be closed from the junction of Wernddu Road in a westerly direction for 445m along its length.
There is no suitable alternative route for vehicular traffic.
Access for emergency services, pedestrians and residents will be maintained.
