What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF STOCKTONON- TEES A1305 RIVERSIDE (PART) SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION ORDER 2013(REVOCATION) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order on 12th June 2026 under Section 84 & Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act. The Order, which will come into effect on 21st June 2026, will have the effect of revoking the 40mph speed limit along A1305 Riverside, from a point approximately 270 metres north of its junction with Bridge Road in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 462 metres. The full length of A1305 Riverside will be a restricted road and the national speed limit of 30mph shall apply to the full length and be indicated by a system of streetlights.
The Order and map showing the affected roads may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council's website (Traffic Orders). If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 12th June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
