What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A582 CROSTON ROAD JUNCTION

IMPROVEMENTS) SIDE ROADS ORDER 2026
The Highways Act 1980 s14 and s125

The Lancashire County Council hereby give notice that they have made and will submit to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, an Order under Section 14 and Section 125 of the Highways Act 1980-
Authorising the Council to:-
(a) Improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering),
(b) Stop up highways
(c) Stop up private means of access to premises
(d) Provide new means of access to said premises

all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as A582 which the Council are proposing to improve from a point on Flensburg Way 243 metres west of the junction with Croston Road to a point on Farington Road 83 metres east of the junction with Enterprise Drive.

A copy of the order and of the relevant plan may be inspected free of charge at all reasonable hours from 11th June 2026 at Lancashire Archives, Bow Lane, Preston PR1 2RE and at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council at Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland PR25 1DH.

and search for "A582."

ANY PERSON may not later than 24th July 2026 object to the confirmation of the Order by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport to National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ email address:

stating the grounds of their objection.
