OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) Notice of Temporary Footpath Closure

Wytham FP No.419/1/20 Wytham Mill Bridge Date of Order: 6 July 2026

Coming into force: 20 July 2026 This Order is being introduced because of footbridge strengthening and repairs which were anticipated to be completed August 2026. Delays have meant the new works dates are between 20 July and 23 October. This is a 24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of the Footpath as is carried by the footbridge on the Green Belt Way Eynsham Promoted Route, to be closed at the eastern side of Wytham Mill bridge at a point close to Thames Bridge and at the west end of the Private Road of Mill Lane. (Between Grid References SP 47400 09314 and SP 47400 09314 approx.) Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to property which is only accessible from the closed sections of footpath. The alternative route will be signed locally to the south of the closured section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force.
