(ST HUBERTS STREET AND ADJOINING ROADS, GREAT HARWOOD, HYNDBURN BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Hyndburn:
i. St Huberts Street/St Cecilia Street from number 44 to 49 St Huberts Street and number 49 to 62 St Cecilia Street.
ii. St Huberts Street/Hameldon View from number 62 St Huberts Street to number 82 St Huberts Street and number 66 Hameldon View.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The Order will be in force from 0800 hours until 1800 hours on Monday 29th June 2026 to Friday 25th September 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures will be
Closure 1: St Huberts Street closure: Alan Ramsbottom Way – Heys Lane – Queens Street – St Huberts Street and vice versa. St Cecilia Street closure: Hameldon View – Cross Street and vice versa.
Closure 2: St Huberts Street closure: Alan Ramsbottom Way – Heys Lane – Queens Street – St Huberts Street and vice versa. Hameldon View closure: Cross street – Princess Street – St Huberts Street and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out by Cadent Gas.
