THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
WALKINGTON ROAD, LITTLE WEIGHTON (PART)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Walkington Road, Little Weighton. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed jetting works through multiple chambers to clear a sewer network causing a pollution risk to properties works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within the given time.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via the remainder of Walkington Road, Old Village Road, White Gap Road, Common Road and Bluestone Bottoms, Walkington.

The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services. The Order will commence Tuesday 23 June 2026 between 09.30 hours and 15.30 hours and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from Streetscene Services, Highways Maintenance, telephone (01482) 393939. Ref: JS.
