Notice Of Intent
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate S81 sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway works, The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Wednesday 1 July 2026. The works expected for:
• S81 sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway works to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Wednesday 1 July 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8:00pm and 11:00pm.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
• Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Mill Lane, both sides, at its junction with Whalebone Lane North.
• Prohibit all vehicles in the cycle lane on Whalebone Lane North northbound carriageway from a point 3.6 meters south of the common boundary of Nos 431 and 433 Whalebone Lane North for a distance of 37.2 meters in a southerly direction.
• Suspend the Bus Stop on Whalebone Lane North, west side, from a point 7 metres south of the common boundary of Nos. 415 and 417 Whalebone Lane North for 30.2 metres in a northerly direction.
4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
• Whalebone Lane North (A1112), Pemberton Gardens, East Road, Mill Lane and Vice Versa.
• Whalebone Lane North (A1112), High Road (A118), Mill Lane and Vice Versa.
5. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:
• 2-way traffic light signals on Whalebone Lane North at its junction with Hainault Gore and a point 6.39 meters south of the southern kerb line of Millbrook Gardens.
