Notice Is Hereby Given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Friars Way, Macclesfield – For the full extent

This order will come into operation on Tuesday 30th June 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 10th July 2026.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – The Silk Road, Macclsfield

Notice Is Hereby Given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – The Silk Road, Macclesfield – For the full extent.
The alternative route will be via The Silk Road, Hibel Road, Churchill Way Roundabout, Churchill Way, Park Lane Roundabout, Park Street, Mill Lane and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Saturday 18th July 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 4th September 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS – Public Footpath No. 44 Parish of Poynton-with-Worth

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 44 Poynton-with-Worth which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9336 8247 and runs in a generally north then northeast direction for approx. 587m. to OSGR SJ 9354 8300.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from the risk of injury arising from an unsafe bridge crossing.

The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 14th May 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed
