Bridgwater - Temporary Road Closure Due To Interim To Permanent Reinstatement Works
What is happening?
Somerset Council Parish of Bridgwater Temporary Closure of Cornhill St Mary Street and Cornhill
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: St Mary Street - from 81 metres north-west of the junction with Dampiet Street, northwards incorporating Cornhill to the junction with York Buildings for a total distance of 143 metres.
This Order will enable Walton Civil Engineering Ltd to carry out interim to permanent reinstatement works on behalf of Wales & West Utilities.
The Order becomes effective on 23rd June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 29th June 2026 and last until 30th June 2026 between the hours of 18:30 - 06:00 for a total of 1 night.
