(WHALLEY OLD ROAD, BLACKBURN)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE & TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council intend to make the above Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily:
- Close the bus turning circle on Whalley Old Road, Blackburn.
- Subject Whalley Old Road, Blackburn to a speed restriction of 30mph from the northeastern boundary of No. 475 to 50m northeast of the farm track running to Cunliffe Farm Cottage.
The closure is necessary for the following reason: To support and deliver highway and pedestrian improvement works.
The Order will come into force on 22nd June 2026 and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months.
There is no suitable diversion for the road closure mentioned in this order.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
