TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 14(1), 14(2) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

NORTH WALSHAM – U10301 Bradfield Road from its junction with A149 Cromer Road to its junction with U10303 Kendall Close to facilitate gas replacement works from 8th to 26th June 2026 (may continue until 7th August 2026). Alternative route is via: A149 Cromer Road, B1145 North Walsham Bypass, Folgate Road, Lyngate Road, Bradfield Road. The works promoter is Cadent.

STRUMPSHAW – Hemblington Road from its junction with Norwich Road for 190m northwards to facilitate duct installation works from 12th to 19th June 2026 (may continue until 31st July 2026). Alternative route is via: Norwich Road, Chapel Road, Blofield Road, Lingwood Road, Hemblington Road (Strumpshaw, Lingwood and Burlingham, Blofield). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

SWANNINGTON WITH ALDERFORD – Hall Road from 700m east of its junction with Springwell Lane for 900m eastwards to facilitate bellmouth entrance removal works from 8th to 14th June 2026 (may continue until 26th July 2026). Alternative route is via: Hall Road, Reepham Road, Alderford Common, Fir Covert Road, A1067 Fakenham Road/Norwich Road, Porters Lane (Alderford, Felthorpe, Morton on the Hill, Weston Longville, Taverham, Swannington, Attlebridge, Great Witchingham). The works promoter is VolkerFitzpatrick.

TAVERHAM – A) Kingswood Avenue from 20m west of its junction with Breck Farm Lane for 40m eastwards and B) Breck Farm Lane from its junction with Kingswood Avenue for 100m northwards to facilitate pumping main and drainage installation works from 8th June to 3rd July 2026 (may continue until 3rd January 2027). Alternative route is via: Kingswood Avenue, A1067 Fakenham Road, Windsor Chase. The works promoter is Breheny Civil Engineering.

WALCOTT – U19003 Ostend Road from 400m north of its junction with C643 North Walsham Road for 40m northwards to facilitate pipe extension and concrete bag works from 8th to 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026). Alternative route is via: Ostend Road, North Walsham Road, B1159 Coast Road, Ostend Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

BLO’ NORTON – Fen Road from 50m east of its junction with Thelnetham Road for 20m eastwards to facilitate new water connection works from 8th to 10th June 2026 (may continue until 22nd July 2026). Alternative route is via: U33167 Fen Road, U33163 Thelnetham Road, U33164 Middle Road, U33167 The Banks. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

BRADENHAM – U33283 Manor Road from its junction with C126 Bradenham Lane for 30m north-westwards to facilitate culvert repair works from 10th to 11th June 2026 (may continue until 23rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: C126 Bradenham Lane/School Road, C116 Hale Road, U33234 Halfmile Drift, U33283 Manor Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

CRANWORTH – U35178 Pittocks Lane from its junction with U35179 Pye Lane to its junction with the U35177 Manson Green to facilitate carriageway repair works from 8th to 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026). Alternative route is via: U35179 Pye Lane/Southburgh Lane, C159 Woodrising Road, B1108 Watton Road, U78177 Dereham Road and vice versa (Hingham, Cranworth). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

GATELEY – U35185 Mill Road from 690m north of its junction with C243 Centre Road for 40m northwards to facilitate culvert fencing works on 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026). Alternative route is via: C243 Centre Road/Church Road, C233 Gateley Road, U35185 Mill Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

GILLINGHAM – U76303 Kings Dam from 10m east of its joining with the Gillingham Footpath 15 (locally known as Marsh Lane) for 35m westwards to facilitate kerb replacement works from 8th to 9th June 2026 (may continue until 21st July 2026). Alternative route is via: Kings Dam, The Street, Geldeston Road, Gillingham Road, Dunburgh Road (Geldeston, Gillingham). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

LODDON – A) C554 Beccles Road from its junction with U71280 Little Money Road for 95m south-eastwards and B) U71280 Little Money Road from its junction with C554 Beccles Road for 75m westwards to facilitate Section 50 utility connection works from 8th June to 3rd July 2026 (may continue until 3rd January 2027). Alternative route is via: Beccles Road, High Street, Church Plain, Bridge Street, George Lane, A146 Loddon Bypass. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

MORNINGTHORPE AND FRITTON – U76025 School Road from its junction with U76024 Common Lane for 123m westwards to facilitate kerb and carriageway patching works from 10th to 11th June 2026 (may continue until 23rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: School Road, Church Lane, Blacksmiths Lane, Common Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SAXLINGHAM NETHERGATE – U78143 Elmers Lane from 515m southeast of its junction with C187 Cargate Lane for 40m south-eastwards to facilitate concrete bag culvert repair works on 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026). Alternative route is via: Elmers Lane, Cargate Lane, Norwich Road, The Street, Browns Lane, Long Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SCOULTON – U33025 Mere Road from its junction with B1108 Norwich Road for 100m north-westwards to facilitate overhead fibre installation works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 9th June 2026 (may continue until 21st July 2026). Alternative route is via: B1108 Norwich Road, C131 Woodrising Road and vice versa. The works promoter is BT.

SOUTH LOPHAM – Church Road from 177m northwest of its junction with Primrose Lane for 20m north-westwards to facilitate electricity cable diversion works between 08:00 and 18:00 from 9th to 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026). Alternative route is via: C870 Lopham Road, C142 Garboldisham Road/Guiltcross/Kenninghall Road, B1111 Manor Road/The Street, A1066 Diss Road/Thetford Road/The Street, C870 The Green (Kenninghall, Garboldisham, North Lopham, Harling, South Lopham). The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

BURNHAM MARKET – B1155 Stanhoe Road from 250m south of its junction with C88 Docking Road for 110m southwards to facilitate new water connection works from 9th to 11th June 2026 (may continue until 23rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Stanhoe Road, Burnham Road, Bircham Road, Fakenham Road, High Street, Church Place, Station Road, Brancaster Road, Mill Road, Main Road, Bellamys Lane, North Street, Market Place, Church Walk, Docking Road (Burnham Norton, Docking, Barwick, Stanhoe, Brancaster, North Creake, Burnham Market). EMNETH – C14 Ladys Drove from 32m south of its junction with C19 Wilkins Road for 40m southwards to facilitate damaged fence parapet repair works from 8th to 9th June 2026 (may continue until 21st July 2026). EMNETH – U21005 Fendyke Road from its junction with U21006 Hall Dike for 2000m north-westwards to facilitate surface dressing works from 12th to 17th June 2026 (may continue until 29th July 2026). Alternative route is via: Fendyke Road, Hollycroft Road, Outwell Road, Wisbech Road, Robbs Lane (Outwell, Emneth). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

FLITCHAM WITH APPLETON – B1153 Anmer Road from 560m north of its junction with U22002 Abbey Road for 80m northwards to facilitate HRA carriageway patching works from 9th to 11th June 2026 (may continue until 23rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Anmer Road, Lynn Road, Stanhoe Road, Stocks Close, Syderstone Road, Fakenham Road, Docking Road, The Green, Hillington Road (Hillington, Docking, Syderstone, Little Massingham, Barwick, Bircham, West Rudham, East Rudham, Tattersett, Anmer, Bagthorpe with Barmer, Harpley, Flitcham with Appleton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

KING’S LYNN – U20523 Tower Place from 60m south of its junction with U20515 St James Street for 30m southwards to facilitate new water connection works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 11th to 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026). Alternative route is via: Millfleet, London Road, St James Road, Railway Road, John Kennedy Road, North Street, St Anns Street, St Nicholas Street, Tuesday Market Place, King Street, Queen Street, Saturday Market Place, St James Street, Tower Place. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

KING’S LYNN – U20609 Extons Road from its junction with B1144 Tennyson Road for 57m eastwards to facilitate HRA patching and iron works from 9th to 10th June 2026 (may continue until 22nd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Extons Road, Avenue Road, Tennyson Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

KING’S LYNN – King’s Lynn Footpath 35 from 116m southwest of its junction with 2Y23 Cycle Path from Bergen Way to Bryggen Road for 54m south-westwards to facilitate HRA patching works from 9th to 11th June 2026 (may continue until 23rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Cycle Path From Bergen Way To Bryggen Road, Bryggen Road, Cycle Path Opposite 73 Reid Way Heading North To Bryggen Road, Reid Way, Woolstencroft Avenue, Kingsway, Mariners Way, Greenland Avenue. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

MARSHLAND ST. JAMES – U21033 Moyses Bank from its junction with C3 School Road for 1900m southwards to facilitate surface dressing works from 8th to 11th June 2026 (may continue until 23rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: School Road, Smeeth Road, Edge Bank, Moyses Bank (Emneth, Marshland St. James). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SOUTHERY – A10 Ferry Bank from its junction with C790 Sedge Fen Road for 400m southwards to facilitate surface dressing works. The Order continues the provisions of the Notice dates 27th May 2026 and the road will continue to be temporarily closed from 31st May to 12th June 2026 (previously 27th to 31st May 2026) (may continue until 12th December 2026). Alternative route is via: A10 Southery Bypass, Modney Hall Road/Lynn Road, Fordham Bypass, A1122 Southern Bypass/Western Bypass, Station Road, Bridge Road, Downham Road, High Street, Outwell Road, Wisbech Road, Isle Road, Town Street, New Road, Townsend Road, Main Road, Welney Road, Main Street, Wash Road, Bates Drove, A1101 Wisbech Road, A10 Lynn Road, Ferry Bank (Downham West, Nordelph, Denver, Downham Market, Littleport, Hilgay, Fordham, Ryston, Welney, Outwell, Upwell, Southery). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: These works will be carried out in phases:

  • Phase 1 between 19:00 and 05:00 from 8th to 9th June 2026.

  • Phase 2 between 19:00 and 05:00 from 11th to 12th June 2026.

WALPOLE – U21090 The Marsh from 240m southwest of its junction with U21083 Marsh Road for 30m south-westwards to facilitate new water connection works from 8th to 10th June 2026 (may continue until 22nd July 2026). Alternative route is via: The Marsh, Marsh Road, Wisbech Road, Frens Road (Sutton Bridge, Walpole). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

WALPOLE – C781 Chalk Road from its junction with C782 Church Road for 260m northwards to facilitate duct installation works from 8th to 19th June 2026 (may continue until 31st July 2026). Alternative route is via: Church Road, Walnut Road, Police Road, Wisbech Road, Chalk Road. The works promoter is BT.

WEST WINCH – U22023 Hall Lane from 20m northwest of its junction with U23408 Eller Drive for 40m south-eastwards to facilitate HRA patching works from 8th to 10th June 2026 (may continue until 22nd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Hall Lane, Gravelhill Lane, Main Road, Long Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
