CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1186 WATERSIDE ROAD, WETHERAL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Network Rail to carry out devegetation works and a detailed structure examination of the Railway Bridge (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U1186 Waterside Road, Wetheral, from a point approx. 420m south east of its junction with the B6263, extending in a southerly direction beneath the railway bridge, for approx. 60m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U1186 Waterside Road, Ferry Hill, The Green, and B6263.

The Order will come into operation on 22 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0800 and 1700 hours and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
